Or maybe it's just the water. Either way, once you're here, you start to understand why so many people who arrive end up staying.

IS-BE started in Venice. And Venice will always have a place in the story — it's where the idea came to life, where the early energy was, where we first put the can in people's hands and watched them get it. Venice is electric. It's loud and creative and full of people doing interesting things.

But it's also a place that can start to feel like a performance. The wellness culture, the beach culture, the whole aesthetic — it's real, but it's also very aware of itself. And somewhere along the way, we realized IS-BE wasn't really a Venice brand. It was something quieter. Something more grounded.

So we moved south.

North County is different. Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Solana Beach — these are places where people actually live the life, they don't just post it. The surfers here have been surfing the same breaks for decades. The skaters grew up on these streets. The families shopping at Jimbo's aren't doing it for the aesthetic — they actually care what's in their food.

That's the community IS-BE was made for. People who read labels. People who move their bodies and want clean fuel to keep doing it. People who don't need to be sold a lifestyle because they're already living one.

When we landed in Carlsbad, something clicked. The brand made more sense here. We made more sense here.
